to maintain industrial harmony for industrial peace and progress.

Job
Fair for Differently Abled Persons
A
job fair for differently abled persons was conducted on 26th June
2010 by Employment Exchange, Puducherry in association with the
Social Welfare Department, Puducherry. The Job Fair was inaugurated
by Hon'ble Minister for Labour, Thiru M. Kandasamy, at Vivekananda
Higher Secondary School, Chellaperumal Pet, Puducherry. Around 42
private companies participated in the Job Fair organised by the
Labour Department and offer of appointment was given to 35 participants.
Commissioner of Labour, Thiru G. Malar Kannan and Employment Officer,
Tmt. V. Anitha,and other officials of the Labour Department participated
in the job fair.

TRAINING
PROGRAMME ON "BEHAVIOURAL SKILL MANAGEMENT FOR WOMEN AT BOOMIYANPET
FROM 22ND SEPTEMBER 2009 TO 26TH SEPTEMBER 2009
A
five day training camp on "Behavioural Skill Managment for
Women" was inaugurated on 23rd September 2009 at Labour Welfare
Centre, Boomiyanpet at 09.30 a.m. The Labour Officer (Welfare Schemes),
gave a warm welcome, the Commissioner of Labour inaugurated the
camp. The inaugural address and felecitation address were given
by the Deputy Labour Commissioner.
on
24th September 2009, a lecture was given by Mr. Abdul Rachide, Advocate,
Leagal Aid Cell, Puducherry on "Family Counseling" and
on 25th September 2009 a talk on "Health Awareness" was
given by the Medical Officer, Primary Health Centre, Boomiyanpet,
Puducherry.
Self
Employment Course on Beauty Clinic was conducted by Ms. S. Marie
Sagayamarie.
Certificates
were distributed to the participants and the vote thanks was given
by the Labour Officer (Welfare Schemes).
World
Day Against Child Labour
Labour
Office (Welfare Schemes), Puducherry along with the Puducherry Legal
Services Authority, Puducherry conducted awareness programme on
World Day Against Child Labour on 18th June 2009 in the Auditorium
of the Labour Department Complex, Gandhi Nagar, Puducherry and on
22nd June 2009 at Rural Labour Welfare Centre, Ariyur, Puducherry.

CAREER
GUIDANCE EXHIBITION
The
Employment Exchange, Puducherry is conducting Career Guidance Exhibition
every year in Pondicherry region for the benefit of S.S.L.C. and
+2 students of Pondicherry.
This
year also it is proposed to conduct one such Exhibition in Pondicherry
region at Gandhi Thidal, Beach Road, Pondicherry during May / June
2008.
The
purpose of the Exhibition is to educated and counsel the S.S.L.C.
/ +2 Students of Pondicherry, so that they can avail the opportunities
of admission for various higher study courses conducted by the Educational
Institutions in Pondicherry and adjoining State of Tamil Nadu.The
date(s) of the Career Guidance Exhibition will be updated subsequently.
